The Colegio Oficial de Enfermeras y Enfermeros de Barcelona (COIB), in a serious attempt to improve and transform the collegial body, has initiated the RESET project, a participative process among collegiates, whose objective is to design a new relational model and provide it with a purpose within the collegial organisation. Historically, collegial structures have not responded to the expectations of the professional nurses who belong to them. This is the origin of the project: to build a professional organisation with a purpose for this collective in Barcelona.

The participation process, which is already underway, has different execution phases. The 1st phase of the project was already executed and consisted of more than 50 face-to-face and online dialogues which included the participation of hundreds of Barcelona nurses. These dialogues have established the bases of the professional discussion, since they opened the debate about the professional issues that interest them the most, their daily problems and what they need to be able to develop their profession.

Through the dialogues, the master lines on which nurses will agree and which they will define have been collected; they will be the action guidelines for the collegiate body.

This is the first participation process of its kind in Spain within a professional order.
